Patio furniture can be made from wicker and rattan, wood, metal and plastic. Depending on the style and look you are going for, you'll want to choose the right one that will complement your outdoor living area. Here, we'll run through some of the details about each of these materials.
Wood
Wood furniture is really popular because it's long lasting and looks great. If you decide to go with wood furniture you should treat it with something to ensure it's water resistant. What's great about wooden furniture is that it can be given a whole new lease of life with a simple coat of paint or sand back and stain.
Wicker and Rattan
Wicker and rattan furniture is great for outdoor living spaces, as it's very lightweight and durable. It comes in a range of colours and styles as well as being made from either natural or synthetic materials. It's also much cheaper than hardwood.
Metal
Metal furniture is great for modern outdoor areas, and it's a very economical choice too. It's low maintenance and sturdy, and because of it's weight it won't be blown over easily by a strong wind.
Plastic
Plastic or PVC patio furniture is the cheapest option and is easily transported. It's usually made for stacking, and is super easy to maintain because you can simply wipe the dirt off. The only downside to plastic is that it can break easily but it's great for a short-term option.
